Do a drive-by of your house. 

Ask yourself what potential buyers will see when they look at your house. Peeling paint, dead vegetation and a cluttered yard are all definite turn-offs. 

Hang a welcome wreath on the front door. Make an effort to present your house in a cheerful manner, after all, this is the first impression for buyers.

Do a room-by-room inspection. 

Over-crowded rooms look smaller than they really are. The same is true for closets. So, clean up and clear out - put things you're not using in storage boxes.

Kitchens and bathrooms are big sellers. 

Pay particular attention to these two rooms. Make needed repairs. Clean and polish the chrome.
